Oscar Sagué

I am a spearfisher since I was 10 years old. Now, more than 30 years later, I realize that my love for this sport has conditioned all my life, including my career. Spearfishing made me love the sea and all their creatures and practice this sport with respect and responsibility, knowing that our duty is to leave future generations a legacy at least as good as we received. I try to create bridges between underwater activities, managers, scientists and commercial fishers for a better fisheries management.

In 2003, I left my job as a computer analyst-programmer in GIS due to the need to live close to the sea. I got my title as a Technical Expert in Navigation, Fisheries and Maritime Transport and ended up becoming a vessel master. I am also Apnea Academy instructor, Freediving Underwater Photography Spanish Champion and, since 5 years ago, IFSUA’s CEO (www.ifsua.net), a European recreational underwater activities’ stakeholder that joins divers, free-divers, retailers and industry.
